We are proud to once again share with you the comprehensive community development efforts MPDC undertook in 2022 as we further advanced our mission of fostering a vibrant, healthy Roxbury neighborhood that supports the well-being and advancement of all.
In 2022, MPDC continued to see important growth within our wealth and community-building programming while achieving major milestones on multiple housing projects. MPDC’s robust pipeline of upcoming affordable housing opportunities has been deliberately developed to address a wide range of needs, from deeply affordable rental housing to new opportunities for low and moderate-income residents seeking to purchase their first home.
Excitingly, MPDC was part of the winning project team to receive designation of the city-owned Parcel 3. In partnership with HYM and My City at Peace, this project will bring over 300 new units of affordable rental and homeownership housing, thousands of square feet of lab and commercial space, a new home for the King Boston Museum and Policy Center, as well as more than 2,000 new jobs. That this will all be occurring at a site that has been vacant for decades due to the destructive urban renewal policies that catalyzed MPDC’s formation nearly 60 years ago is a beautiful conclusion and a powerful testament to the vision of our founders, the efforts of committed MPDC leaders over the last 57 years and the resilience of our community.
Despite the hardships that our community has faced due to the extraordinarily challenging social and economic conditions we continue to grapple with, MPDC recognizes the once-in-a-generation opportunities ahead of us to make meaningful and lasting change; to reimagine systems and foster communities that can work for everyone. We also know we cannot do this transformative work without our remarkable Roxbury community, particularly our residents.
We are grateful for each individual, organization, and supporter who contributed to another year of impact in 2022!

MADISON PARK DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP CHANGE; SEEKS NEW CEO

ROXBURY, MA. – The Board of Directors of Madison Park Development Corporation (MPDC) today announced that Jeanne Pinado will step down as Chief Executive Officer after 21 years of leadership effective December 31, 2019. The board formed a search committee and has enlisted the services ofAnn L Silverman Consulting to help lead the work of identifying a new CEO.
Ivelise Rivera, MPDC’s Board President, said of the leadership transition, “It has been a privilege to have Jeanne as our CEO for two decades. She is a highly capable leader who has transformed MPDC from a small operation to a highly successful, multi-faceted organization. We have laid the groundwork for a smooth transition and the Board looks forward to new leadership as we begin the next chapter in MPDC’s history.”
“It’s with mixed emotions that I decided it was time to step down. I’ll miss the daily rhythm of the work and my amazing staff and colleagues but look forward to taking a year off to spend time with family and friends and think about what’s next. I have loved my role here and still love it. My team has accomplished so much from developing and preserving hundreds of quality homes for families, to adding new Dudley Square businesses and jobs, to the rebirth of Hibernian Hall as an arts and cultural center to resident-driven programming in health & community wellness, civic engagement, and youth development. As a lover of the built environment, the opening of the new Dewitt Center last year is a wonderful accomplishment. Serving the Roxbury community and the City of Boston has been the highlight of my professional career and I leave MPDC at a high point in its 53-year history and with a confidence that it will continue to build upon its success and promote the well-being of the community,” said Jeanne Pinado.
The Board of Directors engaged Ann L Silverman Consulting to provide strategic advice as it assesses the organization and makes decisions about MPDC’s next CEO. The plan is to announce a new CEO before Jeanne’s December 31st departure. Ann Silverman said, “We look forward to working with the Board of Directors over the next several months to identify a new CEO. MPDC is a highly functioning organization and we are confident we’ll find a new CEO to take on the many opportunities and challenges of its important work.”
About Madison Park Development Corporation
