MADISON PARK DEVELOPMENT CORPORATION ANNOUNCES LEADERSHIP CHANGE; SEEKS NEW CEO

ROXBURY, MA. – The Board of Directors of Madison Park Development Corporation (MPDC) today announced that Jeanne Pinado will step down as Chief Executive Officer after 21 years of leadership effective December 31, 2019. The board formed a search committee and has enlisted the services ofAnn L Silverman Consulting to help lead the work of identifying a new CEO.
Ivelise Rivera, MPDC’s Board President, said of the leadership transition, “It has been a privilege to have Jeanne as our CEO for two decades. She is a highly capable leader who has transformed MPDC from a small operation to a highly successful, multi-faceted organization. We have laid the groundwork for a smooth transition and the Board looks forward to new leadership as we begin the next chapter in MPDC’s history.”
“It’s with mixed emotions that I decided it was time to step down. I’ll miss the daily rhythm of the work and my amazing staff and colleagues but look forward to taking a year off to spend time with family and friends and think about what’s next. I have loved my role here and still love it. My team has accomplished so much from developing and preserving hundreds of quality homes for families, to adding new Dudley Square businesses and jobs, to the rebirth of Hibernian Hall as an arts and cultural center to resident-driven programming in health & community wellness, civic engagement, and youth development. As a lover of the built environment, the opening of the new Dewitt Center last year is a wonderful accomplishment. Serving the Roxbury community and the City of Boston has been the highlight of my professional career and I leave MPDC at a high point in its 53-year history and with a confidence that it will continue to build upon its success and promote the well-being of the community,” said Jeanne Pinado.
The Board of Directors engaged Ann L Silverman Consulting to provide strategic advice as it assesses the organization and makes decisions about MPDC’s next CEO. The plan is to announce a new CEO before Jeanne’s December 31st departure. Ann Silverman said, “We look forward to working with the Board of Directors over the next several months to identify a new CEO. MPDC is a highly functioning organization and we are confident we’ll find a new CEO to take on the many opportunities and challenges of its important work.”
About Madison Park Development Corporation
MPDC was formed in 1966 by community activists who fought back against destructive urban renewal policies that threatened to decimate the neighborhood. Following a number of victories, MPDC went on to become one of the nation’s first community-based, nonprofit developers of affordable housing. MPDC has preserved and developed nearly 1300 units of affordable housing, homes to over 3,000 residents, as well as over 85,000 SF of commercial space that is bringing critical economic activity to Dudley Square.

NAI Hunneman launched its new community initiative program Hunneman Cares on August 8, 2018 with a day of service to beautify a park adjacent to the Dewitt Center. Madison Park Development Corporation helped coordinate this effort. The Dewitt Center, provides education and life skills training for residents in Roxbury. Forty Hunneman employees, led by Chief Executive Officer Stephen M. Prozinski spent the day planting flowers, weeding and performing other landscape work and also repainting park benches.
For Hunneman, the decision to give back while paying it forward was a simple one.
“Roxbury is a place that we’ve been doing a lot of business and we wanted to do something impactful to give back to this community,” said Prozinski. “We manage buildings in Roxbury for the City of Boston, Madison Park Developmen Corporation and the Jubilee Church as well as doing leasing in the area and our team members were excited to help us grow these partnerships within the community and give back to Roxbury.”
Samaj Jordan is experiencing these opportunities first hand. A senior at Madison Park Technical Vocational High School, Jordan is serving his first internship with Hunneman and is learning many facets of property management. “It’s fun and I learn something different every day. This internship is opening a lot of doors for me,” said Jordan.
Jordan’s sentiments are echoed by others working to create positive change in the community.
“It’s very important to have a corporate partner like Hunneman in the community because it shows a commitment not only to the community but the city of Boston to clean up these parks for our youth and for our residents,” said Cherrelle Norris, Communications Manager, Madison Park Development Corporation. “It’s a great effort!”
Hunneman also YouthBuild Boston to present a check for $7,500 to aid the organization’s efforts in building trades program for young adults.
